"Dappies toys" - My first digital camera & Zorki-1

My kid calls these "Dappies toys". Sometimes its "My cama!" I guess he is correct. Now my snapshots are just still snapshots only more costly.:-) Top one is Samsung GX20 and the bottom camera is KMZ Zorki-1. The Zorki is in great shape and generally nicer than my FED-1.

Still exploring the feature set of the GX20 w/ standard kit 18-55mm. Pentax 50-200mm on its way now. The two kit lenses will be just fine for now. I'll see how this plays out.

Seems rather well made with a little bit of heft that I prefer. Its irritating to find that the optional battery grip is hard to find and a bit expensive. There are UK sellers with the grip in stock. The exchange rate and British love of high taxes make it pricey. F**king VAT and high postage.

I now have a digital PnS.

Tokina AT-X 80-200mm/2.8 SD (Sakar 135mm/2.5 test shot)

Tokina AT-X 80-200mm/2.8 SD (Sakar 135mm/2.5 test shot)

The pictured lens:
The Tokina 80-200/2.8 SD from what I can tell was the cross over from manual focus to AF. Wide open it's a little soft. At F4 it's great. AF is slow and when focusing the front filter ring turns, doh! Also the tripod collar is *not* removable. On the plus side, these can often be found used for under $500 and the red stripe can make you feel like you're using L glass! Weighs 1363g.

Taking lens:
This was also a test shot for my Sakar 135mm/2.5 Macro (m42). This was taken at about 1:7, F8. Not too shabby for a $20 lens! This image has been uploaded full size with no post excepting the watermark.
