Pileus From Above

Pileus From Above

Flying home from St. Paul was fairly smooth and uneventful, but there were a few really nice cumulus clouds along the way. What catches my eye about them when I'm looking at them from an airplane is their three-dimensionality. Some of that is because the plane is moving so swiftly, and some is because of the vantage point.

In this instance, what caught my eye was the beautiful pileus forming in one of the cloud's saddles. Yeah, I suppose to some it's just another cloud. But to me, it's astonishingly beautiful. I can just imagine the iridescence in that smooth cloud.

Took too long to get the camera and the pileus over this growing top were almost gone. Will need a pro account soon, if anyone feels generous I will apreciate it :)
