LETS GO! WITH EMOTION!

LETS GO! WITH EMOTION!

Keo and I got accosted at Ueno one day by a calligraphy shop that was doing a display. It was pretty funny, this wee girl was writing what looked like really fancy text and I was like "WOW! That's fresh!" but the guy said it was indecipherable gibberish! Well, honey, you win some/you lose some.

Good luck reading ours!!!
After that nursery Jake was done Keo and I got busy. The presenter asked us what we wanted to write and my mind just went blank!

Keo and I were using the phrase Ikke Masho quite a lot. It means "LETS GO!" and then you pump your fist in the air like you mean it.

The calligraphy guy was quite into the fact that we'd learned at least some Japanese and became rather optimistic! "how do you want to write it?" he asked, and me knowing only one word for text I said kanji! He flapped his hand over his face like "Oh fuck!"

For a moment he totally couldn't remember how to write it in Kanji. turns out it's the most formal and ancient script, like him asking me to write it in old-english or something (?)

Anyway, he goes for it on this piece of paper and we copied it onto these sheets with really big, drippy brushes and ink. It was a good time!

I just wonder if he was looking at ours thinking the same as when he was watching the girl? Probably!

It's a different Lets Go than the usual. pronounced totally differently, but I can't remember how!

tribute to the barmaid.

tribute to the barmaid.

You've got to pay to sing in Japan, so you better make it a good one, none of this "lets do a duet, cause I'm nervous" bullshit.

However, even after the song fees and the booze, our bill was through the roof! I was pretty sure she was bumping us, so I started all the Gaijin patter, but coughed up in the end. It'd be stupid to get the police down when you're leaving the country in the morning.

I'm not a big fan of the "Give her a break, she's gorgeous" club. Snakes with tits Keo, snakes with tits.

Korean dad kept calling her his "sweet honey girl"! He was pretty fresh.
